Find me.

「His Eye Is on the Sparrow」 神様も 仏様もいない 夜 ローリンヒルの歌声の中には 神様 みたいなものが いたのではないかと 思った夜に 明日も元気で 皆様も どうか お元気で ともこ、原文の静かな語り口と、行間を残して英語にしたよ。曲名は英語の正式な表記「His Eye Is on the Sparrow」に整えています。 The days when living feels difficult keep coming. Each day, each passing day, feels so heavy and so painful. And on days when I feel I’ve had enough, I sometimes come across a video like this. “His Eye Is on the Sparrow” On a night when there was no God, no Buddha, I wondered if something like God might have been there, in Lauryn Hill’s voice. It was that kind of night. May tomorrow find us well. And all of you, please, take care.

Tonight,

once again,

I came home from work

alone

and crying.

I kept thinking

that I am not good at my job.

When I felt like crying at work,

the faces of those who have passed away

came to my mind—

my grandfather,

my grandmother,

my uncle,

and Tsukimi-chan,

who died in Manchuria.

Of course,

there are faces I cannot remember.

And some I have never seen.

But still,

my wise grandfather,

my grandmother who returned from Manchuria

and started a business

with nothing but the clothes on her back,

my uncle,

who was wise as well,

and Tsukimi-chan,

who I was told

died in Manchuria.

I do not know

how she died.

I only know

that she never came home.

In my heart,

I folded my hands and prayed.

Please,

lend me your strength.

And somehow,

I managed to get through

the rest of the day.

I was tired.

I was hurting.

I thought,

"I can't do this anymore."

And yet,

perhaps

my ancestors

were lending me their strength.

Even now,

I am crying so hard

that my tears blur the keyboard.

Will morning come

like this?

If I cry

until my face changes shape,

will I finally be forgiven?

Tsukimi-chan,

who died in Manchuria.

I used to visit

your grave often.

For some reason,

it was always

a peaceful place.

But now,

I live too far away

to go there.

And still,

on nights like this,

when tears won't stop falling,

I feel as if

that little girl

I never met,

whose face I have never seen,

is quietly

sitting beside me.

My grandfather.

My grandmother.

My uncle,

who could be difficult,

yet admirable.

To be honest,

I no longer care much

about myself.

I have suffered enough.

I do not want

any more pain,

or the weight

of living.

I simply wish

for some peace.

Grandpa.

Grandma.

Uncle.

Tsukimi-chan.

Do you think

I've done enough?

Would it be alright

if I let this job go?

I'm hurting.

I'm so tired.

Tomorrow,

may I find the strength

to keep going.

And to all of you,

please,

take care of yourselves.
